How to Make a Roblox Game Pass

In our Roblox coding course, our students are excited to make games that allow you to buy special powers, items, or perks using Robux. Well, in general, we call them Game Passes. We always tell our students creating a Game Pass is one of the best ways to monetize your Roblox game! In this simple tutorial, I will walk you through step-by-step how to make a Roblox Game Pass. It’s okay if you have no experience. By the end, you’ll know how to create, upload, and connect a Game Pass to your Roblox Studio game.

What is a Game Pass?

Generally speaking, a Game Pass is like a VIP ticket inside Roblox. Think about popular Roblox games like Grow a garden, Blox Fruit or Bed Wars, players can buy it with Robux to unlock special abilities or features. For example, you gain Extra speed or jump boost, or access to secret areas, or special outfits or tools, etc.

The good news is, once you set up a Game Pass Roblox automatically handles the payment. Whenever someone buys the pass, you earn Robux even though you are sleeping!

How to create your Game Pass

The basic requirement is you have a published game. If you don’t know how to create and publish games in Roblox, you can read another tutorial here, or join our Roblox beginner super intensive class, and then you will be able to make your very own games.

Open your game’s store page

1. Open your browser (e.g., Google Chrome) and go to roblox.com.
2. Navigate to Create and then click Creations.
3. Click the game you created, then scroll down to the Monetization section.
4. Now you can start creating a new Game Pass.

Create a new Game Pass

1. Click “Create a Pass”.
2. Upload an icon image for your pass, try to make it eye-catching, players are more likely to buy it !
3. Add a name and description. You can explain what the Game Pass gives players. For example: “Boost Power Super Pass, double your power and pay to win!”
4. Click Create. A new pass will be created!

Enable for sale & set the price

You will now have created your first Game Pass! However, you still need to click inside and set the Robux pricing. For example, I will set it to 300 Robux. You will then need to turn on the “Item for Sale”, and key in the Robux amount. Remember to save changes at the end.

Try it out

Congratulations! Now you have your own Game Pass. You can even try the “Pls Donate” Roblox game—you’ll see your Game Pass appear at your stand if it’s linked to your account and experience.

What’s next?

Next, wire the perk inside your game (e.g., grant VIP access or a speed boost) by checking whether a player owns the pass in your server scripts. Start small, test, and iterate based on player feedback.
